Happy Thanksgiving friends! Who couldn’t love a holiday all about food and family? Do you make the turkey day feast each year or is this your first time? I’ve made Thanksgiving dinner for my family for the past 16 years, so here are my tips and recipes to share with you! If you have any questions about my recipes, feel free to DM me on Instagram!

Our typical Thanksgiving menu:

Serving dish ideas linked for you here.  I like to use white serving dishes because they go with any theme or holiday.  Plus the food in the dish can show off it’s colors for itself!

Recipe for Sweet Potato Supreme.  This was a family recipe from my Aunt and I have changed it slightly over the years to this one.  It is so flavorful and yummy!

Turkey Tinis:

Tips for making a turkey:

We get large turkey wings and deep fry them.  They are so crispy and good! Marinate them in some seasoning salt and ranch seasoning and sprinkle additional at the end when they’re done.  Dip in ranch…yummy!

Here’s a dessert recipe that my Grandma used to make every Thanksgiving.  Such a yummy treat! The perfect small sweet bite after you’re stuffed with Thanksgiving dinner.

Glam Girl’s Grandma’s Buckeyes

Yummy classic peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate. They look like a buckeye nut & make the perfect holiday treat for Thanksgiving or Christmas! Simple ingredients & easy to make!

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups creamy peanut butter

8 TBSP salted butter, softened

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

3 cups powdered sugar

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

2 cups Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips

Toothpicks

Directions:

Beat together with mixer peanut butter, butter, vanilla and then slowly add powdered sugar

Roll into 1 inch balls and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment or wax paper

Place a toothpick into the top of each ball (to serve as a holder for dipping later)

Chill in freezer for 30 minutes

Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler or smaller pot on top of larger pot simmering water, stirring continuously. You could also microwave it in 30 sec. increments, stirring in between. Double boiler is preferred.

Dip frozen peanut butter balls into melted chocolate 3/4 of the way, using the toothpick as a holder. Leave the top of the peanut butter ball showing (not covered in chocolate) to make it look like a buckeye nut. Use a knife to wipe away extra chocolate from the bottom.

Place back on cookie sheet. Remove toothpicks and smooth over the hole left by the toothpicks with a spatula. Serve at room temperature or slightly chilled. Store in refrigerator.

Makes approx. 40
